There is a bogus tape in circulation labeled "Fillmore East 6/15/68" which consists of the 6/14/68 Late Show tape cut up and re-arranged to yield Alligator# #Caution > Feedback# #Space > jam in 12s > the Eleven > Saint Stephen. Two factors suggest that this order is incorrect: the Saint Stephen's conclusion does not sound like the end of a set and the Feedback following Caution does - and the re-arranged tape retains the tape flip 13:36 into Caution on the tape in proper sequence, adding another flip of its own! the list DeadBase XI gives for Fillmore East 6/15/68 Late Show is based on this bogus tape. Someone who must have attended one of these shows has reported "The first time we heard Dark Star was at the Fillmore East in the late 60's. It was the whole set. Before they started, Bobby (or somebody) said, "Wes Montgomery died last night. This is for him." The date given in music books for Wes Montgomery's death is 6/15/68. Kenny Schachat replied "I attend both the 6/14/68 and 6/15/68 early shows at the Fillmore East. I was a little late for the 6/15/68 early show (I think we missed one or two songs). My memories of that show are less clear but I don't think they played Dark Start during that set either. I suppose it's possible that they played it at the very beginning of the set, before we arrived but I rather doubt it and I doubt it even more that they would have played the full Dark Star - Saint Stephen - Eleven that as an opener."
