Comments | Set 1 is acoustic Dead. Deep Elem through Cumberland Blues based on information provided by David Lemieux, including Me And My Uncle and Mama Tried with NRPS. Set 2 is NRPS w/ Garcia, pedal steel. Set 3 is electric Dead. There may have been a second electric Dead set as well. Obviously none of this is complete. (1) Marmaduke says goodnight. The NRPS set conclusion occurs at the beginning of a cassette which continues with the 5/2/70 NRPS set. Apparently this derives from a band work tape. After Uncle John Jerry says "we'll come back with our electric stuff in just a moment," Bobby interjects "you wanna hear Pigpen?" and Jerry responds "Pigpen doesn't wanna do anything." The newly circulating transcription of this SBD contains the Dead sets listed above. The old SBD fragment of this show circulated for years mislabeled "St. Louis 5/19/70;" it's total time is 37:02; it cuts in on the concluding 9:38 of The Other One, probably soon after Drums, and runs through to the end of Cryptical, then cuts to High Time; the Lovelight fragment follows after another splice; circulating copies tend to be very fast. Between this tape and the initial 19 seconds of The Other One on the newer tape, probably little of The Other One is missing. A to Latvala there is no tape in the vault for this show.
