Encore And We Bid You Good Night
Comments The timings represent a composite of the SBD and AUD tapes. The SBD contains Good Morning Little Schoolgirl and Cumberland through Feedback. The AUD master is excellent and often mislabeled "SBD;" the circulating copy contains Good Morning Little Schoolgirl through Deep Elem Blues and Uncle John through Feedback.

There are partial selections and multiple sequences of the AUD tape in circulation, often mislabeled "SBD," and there are also parts of the 4/9/70 SBD in circulation mislabeled "4/12/70." The list given above follows the 2-CD composite tape of the AUD with the SBD reels that was assembled and put into circulation by Nathan Wolfson and David Gans.

The Bill Graham Intro of Good Morning Little Schoolgirl goes "If the Dead End Kids were alive today, they would be called "The Grateful Dead." Jerry sings only the first two stanzas of China Cat before jumping off into the Jam.

At the end of I Know You Rider they start to go into High Time but the AUD tape cuts after 1 second. After the splice Good Lovin' starts. It's conceivable that they didn't actually go on to play High Time. There is a Tighten Up Jam starting around 4 minutes into Dancin.

This is all one long set. Candyman, Deep Elem Blues, Cumberland Blues, Dire Wolf, Black Peter, and Uncle John's Band are all played with electric instruments, not acoustic.

The AUD tape of Candyman cuts in at the second verse, "with your hair a-hangin down."

Cary Wolfson attended this show and remembers the Dead coming back out to do the And We Bid You Good Night encore.
