Comments | David Lemieux has given an interview to the Music Box in which he revealed all regarding Dick's Picks #22, which was recorded at this run of shows. There were 6 or 7 reels (10 inch reels at 15 ips, two track quarter inch tape). The reels labeled one and two were missing all the vocals and one of the drummers. David thinks its Billy that got left out of the signal that went to the recorder on those tapes. The first two reels are believed to be from the 22nd, because some songs on the reel labeled "Three" are songs repeated from reels one and two. None of 2/22/68 was used for Dick's Picks #22. David recalled that two of the songs that were played on 2/22/68 were Morning Dew and Beat it on Down the Line. The end of this show was posted on the February 12-18, 2007 Taper's Section web page on Dead.net. It can be listened to online. The lyrics are so low in the mix they can barely be heard in only a few places. The beginning of Dark Star is clipped off, as is the end of Caution. Caution was probably followed by Feedback, as it usually was in early 1968. |
